Defence Sports and Recreational Association (DSRA)

The Defence Sports & Recreational Association (DSRA) is the MOD's department association for delivering and supporting sport, recreation, physical activity and wellbeing activities to civilians across Defence.

Who is it for?

All Civil Servants who are Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC) members.

What do I get?

The Defence Sports and Recreation Association, or DSRA, offers a fantastic range of sport and recreation opportunities for staff’s health and wellbeing, including:

  • Free third-party insurance when accessing on-site MOD gyms

  • Local activities run by DSRA clubs and groups

  • CSSC event entry fee up to £50 per person

  • Grants for Recognised groups up to £2,000 per year

  • Grants for Affiliated Clubs up to £6,000 per year

  • Sports and Wellbeing Day events

  • Active Wellbeing Campaign Grants

  • Bespoke activities

So, whether you want to pursue a sport, meet new people, or boost your wellbeing, the DSRA has something for everyone.

To benefit, you must be a Defence civilian, employed by the Ministry of Defence or a Defence agency, and be a member of the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC). Join for just £4.99 per month (£4.49 if you receive a pension) or £59.88 annually (£53.88 if you receive a pension).
